First Topic is... Soccer...Duh

So this is officially the first post with a topic other then just welcoming you, or telling you what this blog may be about. If you know me at all then I think it wouldn't have been to difficult for you to guess what I would make my first topic. The obvious answer is soccer. But it is not just soccer in general. The following post is going to be completely about the one and only Trumansburg Boys Varsity Soccer Team! So here we go on my first attempt to post about something.

Our season began with a lot of uncertainty behind it. We all knew that this was supposed to be our year, and we were supposed to be incredibly successful in our season. But as we all know, you never truly know what is going to happen until you actually do it. There are many things that could go wrong with a soccer team. There could be injuries, the team could not get along or not play well together, the coach could choose a bad formation, or put people in the wrong positions making a bad lineup, or a number of other things. So it was impossible to tell until we had gotten through part of the season exactly how successful we would be.

None of those above possibilities came true. Everything has gone great and we are living up to expectations so far. We currently stand with an undefeated record with 10 wins and 0 losses. Along with this we are currently ranked 13th in the state in Class B which is pretty impressive if you ask me. The notable wins so far this season have been 1-0 against Marathon, 5-0 against Watkins Glen, 4-1 against Lansing, and 5-1 against Dryden. All of these teams are quality teams but we managed to take all of them down. It is really going superbly.

Along with the great results though is how much we have bonded as a team. Our wonderful freshman Abraham summed it up nicely in practice when he said. "I don't think we are a team anymore, I think we are a family." While this sounds pretty corny and cliche it is also a good way to put it. Our team is closer then any team I have ever been on. We have so much fun in practice while also still managing to put in hard work and improve every day. It is the actions off the field that really shows it off. We are always together in school and hanging out and having fun but also outside of school we get together a ton just for fun by our own choice. All our get together focus around RUST, and we love it. Our team is truly as much of a family as a sports tea, can become.

So as much as reading about us may let you get a feel for us a little bit. You should just come check us out. You probably already see us around the school, but now come see us on the field. Check the Trumansburg School website for a schedule or just ask one of us soccer players about when we play and come watch us show our stuff against whoever we may be playing. You won't regret it.

Welcome!

I realized last night while I lay in my bed recently after posting my first entry that it probably would have been fitting to start this whole blog thing off with a welcome message. So...

Welcome (insert name), to A Number of Days of Nothing. Written by me, Charles Woodward for your entertainment as well as my own. It's funny really because you start these blog things and are thinking, "I hope this is like in the movies and I get millions of people to follow my blog and read all my posts with intense interest." Obviously the chances of something like this happening are incredibly small, but wishing never hurt anyone. I would like to say though, that you have to start somewhere. So I would like to thank my good friend going by the name of Ottoman, for being my first follower and supporting me. Really I have him to thank for starting this blog anyway as I got interested in it through reading his Mantastic! blog. I really recommend you check it out. You can find a link to it on the right side of this page. So thank you Ottoman for starting me on my quest for millions of avid readers.

Another item of interest to note when you start one of these is that during the first few days you seem to have tons of ideas of what you could post on here and you want to jump right in and write everything you think of. For example, as I previously stated I was laying in my bed last night shortly after making my first ever blog post, and ideas of what I could write about kept flowing through my head. However I think I will stick to a maximum of one post a day, partly because I probably don't have time for much more then that and partly because I don't want to run out of ideas. So as I think of them I will make a note of them to myself and add them to the list to be posted one day at a time.

This being said, I will probably not always have ideas so it would be awesome if you, my hopefully faithful readers, wanted to contribute to my idea bank. If there is anything you would like to see me write about, think I should write about, or even if you just have a question about something I have already written or just something random, please let me know either through facebook, e-mail, or a comment on my blog somewhere. It will not only be greatly appreciated, but most likely I will respond to it in a rather quick fashion.

So again, welcome to my blog. I hope you enjoy reading it, and I hope you will continue to read it as well as maybe recommend it to some friends and other people you may think be interested in it at all. Thank you for the time you have spent, I thoroughly hope it was worth it.

Always the same,
Charles Woodward

Why Am I Doing This?

In all reality I have no idea why I decided I should make one of these blog things, or even what I am going to do with it. But have you ever had that feeling when you have a really good idea that it would be something that would be fun to share on the internet and for other people to see. Again looking at reality, probably no one will ever read this except for maybe some people I know so it will be of no importance anyway. However I'm just a teenage kid like so many others and decided hey, maybe it is worth a try. If for no other reason then to entertain myself a little bit. And hey, what's wrong with trying to entertain yourself. This post has little importance to anything but I think it has served as a nice ice-breaker and maybe something more interesting will come up. I cannot promise how often there will be new posts or how long I will keep this up but I guess we will just have to wait and see together, as I don't have any idea myself either. Now I suppose I am off to start reading my new english book, A Prayer for Owen Meany. Hopefully I will enjoy it more than Frankenstein. I guess I will have an idea after tonight. Happy Reading anyone who may spend the time to look at what I write.
